About Us

Welcome to the Center for Gender Studies (CGS) at the National Institute of Social Development (NISD), a dynamic hub dedicated to promoting gender equality, fostering awareness, and advancing cutting-edge research in gender studies. The Center for Gender Studies at NISD is committed to initiating and conducting initiatives that promote equity and disseminate quality research on gender issues. Our mandate includes conducting educational and training programs on gender studies and gender mainstreaming, with the option of awarding diplomas and degrees at all levels. We house a cutting-edge resource center on gender studies, providing expertise and advice on matters related to gender equality, equity, diversity, and inclusivity.

Our Mission

At the Center for Gender Studies, our mission is to:

  • Promote Equity: Initiate and conduct activities that promote equity within the academic community and beyond.
  • Disseminate Quality Research: Conduct and disseminate quality research on gender issues, contributing to the broader field of gender studies.
  • Educational and Training Programs: Conduct educational and training programs on gender studies and gender mainstreaming, offering diplomas and degrees at various levels.
  • Resource Center: House a cutting-edge resource center on gender studies, providing a wealth of information for staff, students, and researchers.
  • Expertise and Advice: Offer expertise and advice on matters related to gender equality, equity, diversity, and inclusivity.
  • Policy Formulation: Contribute to the formulation, implementation, and updating of gender-related policies at NISD.
  • Raise Awareness: Raise awareness on issues pertaining to gender equality and equity within the academic community and beyond.

 

Our Vision

Our vision is to be a propertied Gender-based Resource Center for the NISD community. We strive to be the reference house, regularly updating our library, resources, and databases on gender studies in both hard and electronic formats. This will serve as a comprehensive resource center for staff, students, and researchers connected to the Center for Gender Studies at NISD.
